About the volunteering opportunity

Dearest Volunteers,

Spring is approaching and the wild garlic season is finally starting!
If you want to harvest your own wild garlic (pesto) and cycle together (10-15km), you are very welcome.

13.00 h meeting point at S-Bahn station Treptower Park, exit park side, bring your roadworthy bikes! A helmet is recommended.
Then we will cycle off to collect wild garlic and will also take a short break together to exchange ideas.
We will finish at 5 p.m. at the latest

To bring along and to consider:
- This tour is not for beginners, there will be NO lessons on this tour. Although we will be riding on routes with little traffic, please only take part if you can already cycle relatively safely. Tour length approx. 10-15km
- We do not provide bicycles. You must come with a roadworthy bike. Pack a rain jacket and water bottle, a helmet is recommended
- Bring scissors and a basket (or paper bag) for collecting
Participation is only for women* and free of charge. We ride according to the traffic rules and everyone must check for themselves before crossing paths to see if they are clear ;-)
We are testing this concept and have therefore limited the group to a maximum of 10 participants.
We are really looking forward to it!

Your Tasks

If you can manage it, we'll ask you to ride alongside an advanced new cyclist and give her a little support. But don't worry, we will of course help you and there will be a short briefing.

#BIKEYGEES e.V.

#BIKEYGEES e.V. offers free cycling lessons for (refugee) women and girls (aged 16 and over).
In addition to practical cycling training, we give traffic lessons in various languages and teach the basics of maintaining and repairing your own bike.
We started in September 2015 as a small empowerment project and have been recognized as a non-profit association for educational and integration work since May 2016. Our training courses create immediately visible and sustainable changes in the lives of the participants.

So far, we have got over 2,200 women/girls on bikes free of charge and handed over around 650 bike sets as donations. (as of Jan. 2026)
