About the volunteering opportunity
we are looking for committed volunteers for our garden project in the refugee accommodation on Hagenower Ring. In our communal garden, which serves as a small oasis for the residents, we grow vegetables, herbs and flowers. We would like to further beautify and expand the garden and need active support! If you have a green heart, enjoy working outside and want to help us create a sustainable and beautiful garden oasis, then you've come to the right place.
Your Tasks
those involved in the garden project will work with the residents to help plant, maintain and design the garden. Your tasks may include planting vegetables and herbs, watering, removing weeds and harvesting. Creative ideas for designing and improving the garden are also very welcome! Together with the residents, you will create a green oasis that benefits everyone and at the same time promotes the joy of gardening.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
Interest in gardening and working outdoors
basic knowledge of gardening is an advantage, but not a prerequisite
enjoy working with others, especially with the residents of the accommodation
creativity and a willingness to contribute your own ideas for designing the garden
reliability and flexibility when working in a team
Time required
Regularly
Discussed individually
On weekdays, during the day
the garden project takes place regularly, ideally once a week. The exact day and time can be arranged flexibly with the volunteers, but we prefer the meetings to take place during the day.
Important notice
Respectful interaction with the residents and other volunteers is very important.
Flexibility is required as tasks may change depending on the season or weather.
Please bring your own ideas and suggestions to enrich and creatively shape the garden project.
As we work with different cultures and people, open and respectful interaction is crucial.
Safety precautions when working in the garden (e.g. when handling gardening tools) should always be observed.
