Mentoring for Trainees (348076)

 As a result, too many young people are still dropping out of their apprenticeships early. Our mentoring project, “Mentoring for Apprentices,” addresses this issue with the goal of “ensuring success in apprenticeships—preventing dropouts.”

As a mentor, you will serve as a point of contact for teenagers and young adults in dual vocational training. Your responsibilities as a mentor will be based on the goals set by your mentee and the agreed-upon topics.

Your responsibilities:

- Providing individualized support and empowerment to young people

- Understanding the trainees’ perspectives

- serving as a trusted, impartial point of contact

- Sharing your personal knowledge and experience during regular meetings

- Providing support when facing uncertainty and helping them cope with unfamiliar stress

- Helping them help themselves—solving problems independently

- Understand the trainees' perspective
- Be a trustworthy and impartial point of contact
- Enjoy supporting the personal development of the trainee

- Share personal knowledge and experience 
- Help them help themselves so they can solve problems independently 

Your personalized support typically involves checking in every 14 days (as agreed upon between the mentor and mentee), either in person, by phone, and/or via email, WhatsApp, Zoom, etc.
