About the volunteering opportunity
Empowering children and teens. Transforming schools. Experiencing the impact firsthand.
Every day, children and teens experience violence and bullying at school. At Zeichen gegen Mobbing e. V., we’re committed to changing that. Together with schools, we create spaces where young people learn to stand up for one another, take responsibility, and treat each other with respect.
As a Social Visionary, you’re right where change happens: directly in the classrooms. You’ll support schools in preventing bullying in a sustainable way, empower children and teens in their social interactions, and design educational programs that make a real difference. You won’t just implement predefined concepts—you’ll bring your own perspectives and experiences to the table and work with us to further develop these projects.
Your Tasks
Your Role with Us
Making a difference in the classroom: You’ll prepare bullying prevention workshops, lead them independently at schools, and create safe learning environments where children and teens ages 8 to 16 feel taken seriously and empowered.
Shaping educational initiatives: You’ll contribute to information, discussion, and engagement programs for students, parents, and school staff to ensure that bullying prevention is firmly established in schools over the long term.
Further developing projects: You’ll help us continuously improve our programs. Your practical experience will inform the further development of our workshops, methods, and materials.
Shaping the community: You’ll actively participate in reflection, discussion, and professional development sessions, support our volunteer Social Visionaries, and help shape our community.
What's needed
Volunteers must be native German speakers.
What You Bring to the Table
Residence: You live in Lower Saxony or neighboring regions in North Rhine-Westphalia. We’re especially interested in applicants from the area between Hanover and Einbeck, as this is a key focus of our project work.
Age: For the role of Social Visionaries, we’re looking for young adults up to age 35. This is based on our educational approach, which emphasizes interactions with students that are as age-appropriate as possible and relevant to their everyday lives.
Prior Knowledge: Ideally, you are currently pursuing or have completed a degree in teacher education, social work, psychology, or educational sciences. Applications from people with comparable experience in social, educational, or volunteer work are expressly welcome.
Mobility & Willingness to Travel: You have a Class B driver’s license, your own car, and are willing to travel for projects within Lower Saxony and beyond, and to stay overnight away from home when necessary.
Strong Communication Skills: You guide groups of adults and students with confidence and poise. You communicate empathetically, clearly, and respectfully—even in challenging situations.
Language Skills: You have very good German skills at a native level.
Personal experience: Many of our Social Visionaries have personal experience with bullying. This can be a valuable perspective, but it is not a requirement.
