About the volunteering opportunity
We are looking for volunteers to support our summer fundraising campaign through street outreach and community events.
Together, we are raising funds for our Forest Cup project in Bertoua, Cameroon—a sports-for-development initiative that combines football with environmental and community education for young people. Donations help fund tree-planting campaigns, community clean-ups, environmental education workshops, and the annual football tournament.
Your Tasks
As a volunteer, you will:
-
Engage with the public: Welcome visitors, introduce Hope Foundation e.V., and answer simple questions about our work.
-
Support fundraising: Encourage visitors to support our projects through voluntary donations and by scanning our QR code.
-
Bring positive energy: Help create a welcoming atmosphere at our information booth and work together with our team.
-
Meet our mascot: If you'd like, you can take short turns as our "Cameroon Lion" mascot to entertain children and families (completely optional).
- Assist with setup: Help set up and pack away materials and proudly wear our Hope Foundation T-shirt during the event.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, basic German skills are required.
- Open and communicative: You enjoy talking to people and sharing Hope Foundation e.V.'s mission with a friendly attitude.
- Team player: You enjoy working together with other volunteers and creating a positive atmosphere.
- Reliable: You can commit to your selected shift and arrive on time.
- Language skills: English is helpful for communicating with the team. Basic German is encouraged, as many visitors will speak German.
-
Willing to learn: No prior knowledge of Hope Foundation e.V. or the Forest Cup project is required. We will provide a short introduction before your shift so you feel confident representing our work.
No previous fundraising or volunteering experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and a positive attitude!

Location
Hope Foundation e.V.
The Hope Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization based in Cameroon and Germany. Since 2001 we have been dedicated to children and women in Cameroon. We are particularly active in the areas of development cooperation, health and education. Due to the close contact with the Cameroonian population, we are in constant exchange about problems and solutions.
In Germany, we organize information and charity events as well as an education project on "global learning".
