Every day, children and teens experience violence and bullying at school. At Zeichen gegen Mobbing e. V., we’re committed to changing that. Together with schools, we create spaces where young people learn to stand up for one another, take responsibility, and treat each other with respect.
As a Social Visionary, you’re right where change happens: directly in the classrooms. You support schools in preventing bullying in a sustainable way, empower children and teens in their social interactions, and design educational programs that make a real difference.
Your Tasks
- Facilitate workshops and help children and teens build respectful relationships with one another.
- Work with other Social Visionaries to create learning spaces where students feel taken seriously.
- Contribute your perspectives and ideas to the further development of our educational programs.
- Regularly exchange ideas with your group and your trainer, and continuously develop your skills.
- Help ensure that schools become safer places for children and teens in the long term.
What's needed
Volunteers must be native German speakers.

Your Profile
- You live in Lower Saxony—ideally in the greater Hanover, Braunschweig, or Göttingen area, where we currently support the most schools.
- You enjoy working with children and young people.
- You interact with others in an open, respectful, and empathetic manner.
- You want to take on responsibility and make a difference in society.
- You’re ready to learn new things and continue to grow.
- You can see yourself leading workshops at schools in the future.
- You have prior experience in social work, education, or volunteer work, or you’re interested in gaining this expertise through our training program.
- A driver’s license and your own car are helpful for your future role as a Social Visionary, but not required.
Time required
Regularly
Approx. 3 hours per week.
On weekdays, during the day
Framework: Regular
After your orientation, you’ll facilitate workshops at schools and participate in collaborative exchange and professional development sessions. You’ll work with your trainer and your orientation group to plan your start.
Hours
On average, about 2 to 4 hours per week. On project days, the time commitment is higher, but there is correspondingly less to do in other weeks.
Flexibility in Location and Schedule
- Orientation and collaboration are primarily online
- On-site workshops at schools in Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia
- Flexible scheduling to fit around your studies or job
- For your future role as a Social Visionary, you should be available regularly in the mornings, as our workshops take place during school hours.
Important notice
- If you’re currently studying education, teacher training, psychology, or social work, you can gain valuable practical experience.
- You’ll receive an expense allowance of up to €100 per workshop. Travel expenses, lodging, and meal allowances are fully covered.
- You’ll learn step by step and receive support throughout the entire onboarding process.&
- You’ll first get a real sense of what it’s like and only then decide whether you want to take the next step.
- You can start by observing workshops to gain confidence.
- You’ll become part of a community that supports one another and learns from each other.
- You’ll develop skills in facilitation, communication, and group leadership.
- After completing three guided projects, you’ll receive a certificate recognizing what you’ve learned and your commitment.
- At some universities and colleges, you can have your volunteer work recognized for credit or as an internship. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
Getting Started
- You can start getting to know us at any time.
- To do so, sign up directly for the active volunteer program or schedule an introductory meeting with our Talent Acquisition specialist, Diana.
- After you sign up, you’ll first receive access to the initial video training session.
- You’ll then meet in a small group for four guided online sessions with a dedicated trainer. Together, you’ll gain initial experience, try out different methods, and address any questions you may have.
As soon as several participants are ready, we’ll plan the training weekend together. Afterward, you can take your time to decide whether you’d like to take the next step as a Social Visionary.
