About the volunteering opportunity
World Cleanup Day is a global UN day of action against environmental pollution and littering. Every year, millions of people in over 190 countries get involved and, through their efforts on the ground, send a clear message in support of a clean environment. Last year, nearly 25 million people participated worldwide. In Germany, over 670,000 people participated and collected more than 2,300 metric tons of trash from parks, forests, and streets.
This year, we’ve teamed up with our partners at World Cleanup Day to jointly raise awareness of the campaign and bring the issue to the attention of even more people. To that end, we’ll show you how to find a cleanup event near you or organize one yourself.

Your Tasks
Find a cleanup near you here on vostel.de or on the World Cleanup Day website, and join in! Together, you’ll collect trash from parks, streets, riverbanks, and green spaces, helping to make your neighborhood a little cleaner.
Is there no cleanup event near you? Then why not organize your own—with your club, a school, or privately with friends and family?

What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
You don’t need any prior experience—just a willingness to pitch in. It’s best to wear weather-appropriate clothing and not be afraid of trash. Your hands will stay clean anyway: the organizers will provide gloves and, in most cases, trash grabbers for collecting trash.

For this purpose, we gather on vostel.de numerous engagement offers from non-profit organizations that are looking for volunteers. By doing this, we show concrete possibilities for action in order to become socially active and would like to motivate above all the younger generations to get involved for a better world.
