About the volunteering opportunity
In the application workshop, we help young people apply for internships and apprenticeships two afternoons a week. This takes place regularly from January to August on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4-6 pm. Here you support a young person with the individual steps of the application process (researching apprenticeships, calling companies, writing applications, preparing for interviews) and motivate them to keep at it.
The declared aim of the application marathon is to write as many applications as possible in one day as a community, celebrate successes together and show perseverance. The joint start is at 8 am, the end at 4 pm. Here too, your task is to support one or two people in adapting and sending off the application documents.

During the one-week MUT Camps (in November and February), you can get active in a variety of ways. The camps focus on workshops on the topics of MUT, careers and application documents. In addition, a joint sports and leisure program ensures fun, new impulses and growing together. Part of the MUT Camp for you as a MUTivator:in is a preparatory training weekend.

At the end of each MUT Camp is the MUT rehearsal - a simulated job interview. We are also looking for volunteers to conduct these interviews with the young people and give them appreciative and constructive feedback afterwards. Always on the Friday of every MUT camp in November or February.

You will receive a 90-minute onboarding session and can then register for one or more events as and when it suits you. For camps and MUT rehearsals, there will be additional onboarding and more information in a personal meeting. The full-time team will always be on site to assist you with questions and feedback.

MUT Academy
The MUT Academy encourages young people in Hamburg to make a successful transition from school to working life. The students are supported in their individual career orientation process. The focus is on exploring their own strengths and interests, getting to know possible career paths and apprenticeships and providing concrete support throughout the application process. To this end, we organize MUT camps lasting several days, offer events throughout the year and accompany the young people individually on their way. The aim is to strengthen self-confidence and self-efficacy so that the young people can courageously take their future into their own hands and find a suitable follow-up perspective after the 10th grade. Volunteers and full-time MUTivators accompany the young people step by step and encourage them to take on new challenges.
