Accompaniment of the handicraft group "Hanan

- Migrants & Refugees
- Hands-on Activities
About the volunteering opportunity
The women's handicrafts group "Hanan" has emerged from an initiative. Refugee women want to sew, knit, crochet etc. together. Some are already better at it and help others to gain their first handicraft experience. It is about exchange, being creative together and making contacts. The women gain more self-confidence, come into contact with other women and can thus participate more in social life.
The group size is usually between 6 and 10 women.
Your Tasks
If you would like to get involved in the handicraft group, then the following activities could become your tasks:
- participate as a German native speaker once a week in the handicraft group, talk to the women, make contacts, ...
- if the women bring their children, child care if necessary
- Listen to the needs and questions of the women and report back to the project leader
- develop own ideas and creatively develop the handicraft group further
- make the group even more international
What's needed
You don't really need much. Here are a few points that would be important:
- German as mother tongue or C1 level
- you are a woman*
- you have fun and enjoy intercultural encounters
- you don't have to have special handicraft skills, but if you are interested in e.g. sewing, it doesn't hurt either
Time required
Our weekly meetings are usually held on Fridays between 14:00 and 16:00.
Important notice
Since the women often bring their children with them, we need an extended certificate of good conduct from you. As a volunteer, there are no costs for you for the application.
The current Corona regulations also apply to the project. Please bring a G-proof with you.
