At Oxfam shops, teams of volunteers sell donated items, thereby supporting Oxfam’s goal of a just and sustainable world without poverty. Each year, they give over 3 million items a new life, and the funds raised support Oxfam’s development work.

- As a volunteer at the Oxfam Shop, you’ll work with your teammates to keep the store running smoothly.
- Your responsibilities include accepting, sorting, pricing, and displaying donated items such as clothing, books, games, and household goods. You’ll assist customers, operate the register, and help maintain the shop’s appearance.
- Your organizational skills will be put to good use, whether in day-to-day shop operations or during special events.
- You’ll use your communication skills to share Oxfam’s values and vision, interacting with customers and donors in German.
- You have the time and desire to take on a regular shift of 5 hours per week, and ideally, you’ll commit to the role long-term.
- During your first 4 trial shifts, you’ll be trained in the various tasks and will have the opportunity to decide whether you’d like to join the team.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
- You identify with Oxfam's visions and goals and are interested in our work - because you are a part of Oxfam and stand for our organization and values.
- You like to take on a responsible task and we can rely on you.
- You enjoy dealing with other people, you like to communicate and you are able to respond well to your colleagues and customers. You enjoy working in a team.
- Your German is so good that you can communicate with the team, customers and donors.
- You are at least 18 years old.
Time required
Regularly
Approx. 5 hours per week.
On weekdays, on weekends, during the day
You will take on a fixed 5 hour shift per week (morning or afternoon).
