About the volunteering opportunity
With the telephone visiting service, volunteers get involved on the phone: they check in, listen, ask questions and stay in touch.
Our volunteers, are trained in conversation management, to call older people regularly at fixed appointments. Here is space for the needs of the interlocutor, the daily joys and sorrows, the own life story and the current condition. All conversations are treated with absolute confidentiality and are free of charge for the seniors.
Your Tasks
For the phone in the telephone visit service, there are no age barriers: whether 20, 50 or 80 years - everyone is welcome for this location-independent and flexible service with us.

The Office for Civic Commitment of the AWO Cologne is a consulting service. People who are willing to volunteer will receive advice and will be placed in organisations that work with volunteers. Further priority will be given to LESEMENTOR Cologne, young volunteers, further education and voluntary refugee work.
