About the volunteering opportunity
The Malteser Hilfsdienst is looking for volunteers for social and life counseling in Lankow.
Support people with migration and refugee experience, senior citizens and families from the Lankow district with everyday bureaucracy, such as rental contracts, daycare search and applications. Give linguistic assistance, refer to counseling centers and authorities, network with associations and initiatives.
The counseling and referral center is located in the district office Schwerin-Lankow and is open on Tuesdays from 4 to 6 pm.
Your Tasks
We are looking for committed residents of Schwerin who can help with language problems, fill out applications together with those seeking help, refer them to authorities and counseling centers, or link them to associations and initiatives.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
Specific previous experience is not necessary, but local knowledge is an advantage. We are looking for empathetic volunteers with a friendly demeanor and practical organizational skills who are open to other cultures and countries of origin.
Foreign language skills and multilingualism are a big plus, but not a requirement for counseling.

In addition to the weekly assignments (approx. 2h), group evenings are held at regular intervals to promote the exchange of volunteers, train you further and give you security for your volunteer service.
Even if you only have time every 2 weeks, we are happy about your volunteer commitment!
