Help with everyday bureaucracy - Support social and life counseling

The Malteser Hilfsdienst is looking for volunteers to provide social and life counseling at the Malteser office.

Support people with migration and refugee backgrounds, seniors, and families in Schwerin with everyday bureaucratic tasks—such as rental agreements, finding daycare spots, and filling out applications—as well as with job searches and resume writing. Provide language assistance, refer people to counseling centers and government agencies, and connect them with local organizations and initiatives.

We are looking for committed residents of Schwerin who can help with language problems, fill out applications together with those seeking help, refer them to authorities and counseling centers, or link them to associations and initiatives.

Specific previous experience is not necessary, but local knowledge is an advantage. We are looking for empathetic volunteers with a friendly demeanor and practical organizational skills who are open to other cultures and countries of origin.

Foreign language skills and multilingualism are a big plus, but not a requirement for counseling.

In addition to the weekly assignments (approx. 2h), group evenings are held at regular intervals to promote the exchange of volunteers, train you further and give you security for your volunteer service.

Even if you only have time every 2 weeks, we are happy about your volunteer commitment!
