About the volunteering opportunity
At Café Krause, we Johanniter have been providing food and drink to people in need for years. From Tuesday to Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., we always have open doors, an open ear and home-cooked food for those in need of support. We are always looking for new volunteers to help us in the Mariannenkiez.
Your Tasks
- Assistance with the preparation of hot meals
- Serving meals
- Looking after our guests
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
When preparing and serving food, possession of the "red card" (infection protection instruction for food staff) is mandatory - this can be applied for and obtained from the Berlin Health Department in Wilmersdorf.
At least a basic knowledge of German is required. It is great if you also know other relevant languages: English, Arabic, Polish, Russian, Bulgarian etc.
What to bring
All relevant work equipment will be provided. It would be a good idea to wear comfortable and warm clothes that can get dirty.

Voluntary commitment has a long tradition at Johanniter. We welcome anyone who wants to contribute to the common good on a voluntary basis. There is no age limit, as long as the volunteers can deal with the tasks they want to do.
