Support in arranging visiting partnerships for older people

We are looking for intermediaries of visiting partnerships for older people in Cologne (districts on the left bank of the Rhine).

In order to reach and bring together even more lonely older people and volunteers in our city, we re looking for volunteers to support the team in getting to know new volunteers and older people after an intensive training phase.

Your Tasks

Your tasks include, for example, organizing the information evening for people interested in volunteering, getting to know lonely older people and matching old and young in visiting partnerships. This project is a new form of volunteering in which you can play an active role.

What's needed

You need to be a native German speaker for this volunteering opportunity, otherwise no previous knowledge is required.

You should have an interest in working with older people, be open-minded and enjoy making new contacts. It is important that you are reliable and flexible in terms of location and time (the appointments are primarily in the evenings and at weekends). As we work in a team, the ability to work in a team is also an advantage

Time required

Regular, individually plannable, for at least one year 

Important notice

You should plan time for three to four monthly appointments and submit an extended certificate of good conduct (we will be happy to explain what this is all about - but you will only need this after we have spoken and you decide to join us).
