About the volunteering opportunity
Pupils of different language levels would like support in learning German in the lessons "German as a second language", which take place daily from 8-12 o'clock.
Singing, playing, making music or handicrafts could also expand the range of support and language learning opportunities and help to ensure that the pupils have a good start in Germany and practice using the language.
Your Tasks
The students should be encouraged and supported in individual practice units during the lessons and would be happy if you help them learn once or twice a week.
This offer could be a good task for retired teachers (primary school or German teachers) or (retired) educators. However, if you do not have any professional experience in this field, we would be happy to hear from you.
What's needed
German as mother tongue, patience and motivating, pedagogical skills are certainly helpful for this commitment.
Time required
Important notice
In order to successfully strengthen and support the learning development of the pupils, a continuous and reliable accompaniment over a longer period of time (several weeks or months) is highly desirable, especially as a trusting relationship between the young people to be supported and the volunteers usually develops during the course.
After the usual admission procedure for volunteers (interview, formalities, extended certificate of good conduct) there is nothing to prevent a valuable volunteer position.
