The children and youth center in Stuttgart Münster, has been involved in working with refugees from Ukraine for over two weeks now. In the cultural and sports center in the immediate vicinity of our facility, about 200 refugees with about 45 children and young people from Ukraine were accommodated for the transition just under three weeks ago. The only space for recreational activities for the people is the civic hall directly above our facility.
Their stay with us in the district is expected to be temporary, but nevertheless we want to welcome the people with open arms in Stuttgart and especially actively integrate the children into our program. We are an open meeting place for children and young people up to the age of 16, which includes many of the refugee children. The need for care for the children and for help for the parents with the challenges of daily life is unmistakable.
We also recognize a need for low-threshold offers for families on weekends
We are looking for volunteers on weekends from 13:30 to 18:30 for the service in the coffee area. The main activities here are making coffee, serving coffee and cake, clearing dishes, filling and emptying the dishwasher and of course talking to people.
Knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian is an advantage, but not absolutely necessary.
The afternoon program for families takes place on weekends from 13:30 to 18:30. How often you want to volunteer with us, we can discuss with you individually.
The stjg was founded in 1950 as an association for open children and youth work. Today, with over 800 employees, we are active throughout Stuttgart for children, young people and their families.More about the organisation
