About the volunteering opportunity
One of our residents, a refugee from a French-speaking African country, is learning German very diligently and would like to practise even more. We are therefore looking for a person who could meet with him (preferably) on a regular basis to speak German with him. This could work as a German-French tandem if someone would also like to improve his/her French.
Your Tasks
Meet with our resident regularly and speak German with him.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
At least communicative German, patience, empathy, intercultural competence.
Time required
Everything after consultation with the resident.
Important notice
The open consultation hours of the volunteer coordination take place on Mondays from 13:00 to 17:00 pm. Other appointments are arranged individually.

The Askanierring reception center and the Aksanierring shared accommodation belong to the Landesbetrieb für Gebäudebewirtschaftung - Teil B (LfG-B for short). It is a state-owned company of the state of Berlin and was founded in spring 2017. LfG-B operates accommodation for refugees on behalf of the Berlin State Office for Refugee Affairs (LAF).
AE Askanierring is an initial reception facility. This means that our residents are new to Germany and are in the asylum process. AE Askanierring offers 330 places for refugees from various countries.
GU Askanierring is a shared accommodation facility for recognized refugees who have already settled in Berlin but still require a certain amount of support. GU Askanierring offers 570 places, also for refugees from various countries.
