About the volunteering opportunity

To mark World Malaria Day on April 25, we are once again organizing the "Malaria Week Berlin" with various events to raise awareness of malaria and collect donations for our "Malaria Free Cameroon" project. This includes the Malarathon (Malaria+Marathon), a charity run that will take place on Sunday, April 27, 2025 on Tempelhofer Feld. The run consists of a 3km, 5km and 10km course, as well as a Bambini run for children. There is something for everyone and together we will run for a malaria-free Cameroon.

We need your support to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

Your Tasks

The tasks include, among others:

  • Handing out start numbers to the runners (26.04.2025, 5 pm)
  • Timekeeping of the runners
  • Supervision of the course
  • Distributing fruit and water
  • Distribution of cake and coffee
  • Animation before the run (small warm-up)
  • Children's entertainment (during the run)
  • Help with setting up and clearing up
Important: The event takes place from 8:30 am to 2 pm, but we are flexible if you need to come later or leave earlier.

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
You're friendly and open-minded towards others, flexible as well as reliable!

Due to the close contact with the Cameroonian population, we are in constant exchange about problems and solutions.

In Germany, we organize information and charity events as well as an education project on "global learning".
