About the volunteering opportunity
Support wanted for the revision of our website (WordPress).
Our website is the digital home of Klima-Taskforce Nürtingen e.V. - here we want to show who we are, what we do and how people can get involved with us. To ensure that this works really well (again), we would like to revise our site structurally and technically - clearer, more inviting and future-proof.
In the meantime, we have also founded new locations, e.g. in Aichtal, and more are being planned. We would therefore like to set up a central website with subpages for all locations - ideally in such a way that they can be easily networked and maintained.
Unfortunately, our website is currently running noticeably slowly, there are occasional error messages and the navigation is not optimal.
Your Tasks
We are looking for you - if you are interested in:
- Analyzing the existing WordPress site (incl. errors and performance)
- If necessary, support in setting up a multisite system or similar
- Optimization of menu navigation and page structure
- Minor design adjustments - depending on your interests
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
For this project, we are looking for people with experience in working with WordPress, ideally also with an eye for site structure, UX/UI and performance optimization.
Also helpful are:
- Basic understanding of website architecture (e.g. how to structure content sensibly or design menus clearly)
- Experience with themes, page builders (e.g. Elementor) or possibly multisite systems
- A good feel for usability and clear navigation
- Interest in a stable and fast technical implementation
- Openness to teamwork and a desire to work on a project for the common good
You don't necessarily need programming skills, but they are of course welcome if you want to get to grips with the technical details.
Time required
Once
Your support can start immediately. The amount of time required depends on how much you want to take on - whether it's just the structure and navigation or also technical improvements and subpages. We estimate a rough amount of 10-20 hours, spread over a few weeks. The schedule is flexible, you will work remotely and in close coordination with our team.

This project is location independent.

Together with the citizens of Nürtingen, we are working towards a climate-neutral municipality. We are taking a practical approach, e.g. with a clothes swap, information events, solar consulting training and a solar camp. At the same time, we are campaigning for measures such as a superblock.
