In June 2021, we started a Re-Use Centre for climate-friendly resource use at Alexanderplatz with project partners in the House of Materialisation.
We also receive clothes from donations that are unfortunately not suitable for the clothing store or for sale in our neighbourhood shops due to damage, wear marks, etc. If these clothes are of a high material quality, we sell them in our clothing shop. If these clothes have a high material quality, we sell them in our material pool for textile upcycling at a price per kilo.
Do you love fabrics and know a lot about textiles? Then we have a voluntary activity that you might enjoy!
Activity: You support the measuring and pricing of yard goods and sewing ingredients. In addition, you prepare the goods for sale in the material pool, either as part of a team or independently.
This is how you will enjoy this volunteer position: you like to work together in a team and enjoy the topic of upcycling.
Requirements: It is important that you can communicate well in German. Knowledge of English is an advantage, but not a must. You have been vaccinated against the Corona virus. You must be at least 16 years old for this volunteer position.
When: Monday to Friday, 08:00- 16:00
Time commitment: Once a week, starting at 3 hours. We would like a regular commitment. Times are individually coordinable.
Expected attitude: You are convinced that every human being has an inalienable dignity. You are respectful of the Christian faith as well as other religions and world views.
