About the volunteering opportunity

Schülerpaten Berlin e.V. brings together sponsors and students with an Arab migration background. Our godmothers give tutoring at the students' homes and are also their contact persons for everyday problems and questions about finding an apprenticeship or career. Each of our sponsorships thus provides a little more equality of opportunity in the German education system.

We are currently looking for a volunteer in Berlin to support us in the area of press and public relations.

Your Tasks

The main task of the press and public relations department is to recruit new sponsors. Various channels are used to make our association better known and to convince potential sponsors to get involved.

The department is responsible for reporting about school sponsors in the media, providing the team with advertising materials and maintaining the homepage and social media presence. In addition, the department represents the association at volunteer fairs and events in the field of education in Berlin.

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.

Where?

This project is location independent.

Schülerpaten Berlin e.V.

Founded in 2009, the registered association Schülerpaten Berlin e.V. aims to improve educational opportunities for children with an Arabic migration background and to enhance integration through intercultural exchange in Berlin. In a careful process volunteers are matched to children in need of tutoring. The mentors are trained by experienced instructors in order to acquire basic educational skills and an understanding of the Arab world. The provision of financial means for recreational activities between mentor and mentee ensures that the relationship is not solely restricted to tutoring.
