About the volunteering opportunity
With our Yadan Biad (=Hand in Hand in Arabic) project, we at the German Red Cross KV Schöneberg-Wilmersdorf e.V. want to get people from the neighborhood to accompany young refugees on their various paths into our society.
We want to shape integration together and support young refugees who are alone in Germany to reach their goal faster, stay motivated and not feel alone.
Your Tasks
We are currently looking for a person who is interested in being active in sports with a group of children and young people aged 14 to 17 years. After a detailed introduction, you would accompany or even lead the group activity.
If you already have experience in leading sports groups or in the specific area of sport you would like to do with the group, that would be ideal. You are free to choose whether you would like to offer dance, martial arts, soccer or other activities, for example.

What's needed
You would like to get involved with refugees and are willing to commit 2-3 hours per week on a regular basis.
We are looking for:
- Long-term commitment for at least 6 months, but ideally longer
- Openness, curiosity and respectful interaction at eye level
- Commitment, personal responsibility and reliability
Ideally, you should have knowledge of Arabic, Farsi, Dari or French.
Time required
The exact day per week can be arranged individually, but about 2-3 hours per week should be planned (of course excluding illness / vacation, emergencies, etc.)

If you get in touch, we will arrange an initial personal meeting in which all modalities (certificate of good conduct, confidentiality agreement, insurance during your engagement, etc.) will be clarified and your individual questions will be answered
Where?

We bring people together who fit together as well as possible and share common interests or goals. We work closely with two shelters in Schöneberg for refugee women and their children and provide close and professional support for both refugees and volunteers.
We are currently looking for women who would like to support young refugee women on their way to a new life. From park mornings with children, excursions, support with formalities to cooking together, everything can be included. We are looking forward to meeting you!
