Funding
We have no continuous funding and are constantly applying to various foundations, funds and the city of Hanover.
In addition, we finance ourselves through course fees and donations. Our funding is never secure.
Among other things, we cannot afford to employ enough staff.
Objectives
1) Supporting integration
Promoting bilingualism and multilingualism gives children access to their culture of origin so that they can integrate quickly and productively from there
2) Showing diversity openly
The language of origin is not a language "just for home". Children need a place where they can speak their language of origin freely, actively and without being separated from the cultural reality
3) Recognize strengths
The language of origin is a strength. If promoted accordingly, it forms the basis for a successful future for children with a migration background
The Märchenkoffer is open 7 days a week and is visited by around 600 children and young people every month. It offers an extensive program with lessons, excursions and workshops on various topics.
