About the volunteering opportunity
We are looking for a dedicated volunteer to keep a 55-year-old resident of our care facility company and spend time with him on a regular basis. Our resident is much younger than the other residents in our facility and has no relatives. He often feels lonely and describes being bored. As he communicates non-verbally but understands everything very well, we would be delighted to have someone who would like to support him by visiting him and taking him for walks outside.

Your Tasks
- Regular walks in the garden or in the surrounding area (e.g. Plänterwald)
- Keep him company and make him happy with your presence.
- Have conversations or non-verbal interaction and company that is tailored to his needs.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
- Empathy and patience in dealing with people who communicate non-verbally.
- Enjoy going for walks
- Reliability and dependability to provide continuity and security for the resident
- Enjoy interacting with older people and interested in regular visits
Time required
Regularly
Approx. 1 hour per week.
On weekdays, on weekends, during the day
- 1-2 times a week, flexible time frame by arrangement
- Regular visits, which can be arranged individually
