About the volunteering opportunity
In our initial reception center for refugees, we are looking for committed helpers for an important area of basic care for our residents:
Your Tasks
Your cooperation helps us to ensure the basic care of our residents and contributes significantly to their dignity and well-being. If you are interested in becoming part of our dedicated team and making a valuable contribution, we look forward to hearing from you. Together, we can give the people in our facility a sense of normality and care.

For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.

On weekends, during the day
We would be delighted if the volunteer could schedule 2 to 3 hours on a fixed day of the week to sort clothing donations and hand out clothes.
However, we are flexible as to the exact time and day of the week chosen. Your commitment will help to organize the clothing distribution and provide important support to the residents of the facility.

A police certificate of good conduct is required for volunteer work with refugees. Costs for the application for the certificate of good conduct, as well as the application itself, are covered by the accommodation.

AWO/IB Unterkunft Flughafen Tempelhof
The Tempelhof Airport accommodation was put into operation on December 23, 2022 and is operated jointly by AWO Berlin-Mitte and the Internationaler Bund Berlin-Brandenburg. The accommodation is located in hangars 1, 2 and 3 of the former Tempelhof Airport and in parking lot 3. It offers space for a maximum of 1600 people.
