About the volunteering opportunity
The mentoring project of our MARIE volunteering office brings together people from Berlin who want to support other people. We are looking for committed people to accompany refugees or other groups of people in need of support and help them settle into a new environment. Personal contact at eye level in particular helps people to get to know each other better and learn from each other. Prejudices can be broken down and replaced by shared experiences.
We offer you: individual support and advice, a regular range of further training courses, joint leisure activities, access to free cultural events, issue of proof of commitment, reimbursement of (BVG) travel costs if required.
Your Tasks
We are currently looking for a person to help a primary school student with his homework and learning, especially in math. The boy lives with his single mother not far from our AWO Family Center on Droryplatz. The tutoring sessions could take place at the family center, for example.
Please contact us to clarify any questions you may have and to arrange a personal meeting.
