About the volunteering opportunity

Do you enjoy bringing people together and creating warm, welcoming spaces? Are you a board game lover who wants to help others connect, relax, and have fun? Join Wellbeing for Everyone, a Berlin-based non-profit that fosters inclusion, mental health, and community through creativity.

We’re looking for a volunteer to open our small community café once a week in the evening and host a cozy board game night for up to 12–15 people. You'll manage the space independently, welcome guests, and offer fun, low-barrier games that help people meet and enjoy time together.

In the long run, we hope to have two volunteers organizing these game nights together. But in the beginning, it will be just you taking the lead. Maybe you'll even motivate others from our community to join you and help grow the project!

An added bonus: you’ll also help activate our existing volunteer network by inviting them to join the game nights—many are also looking for connection and shared moments outside of their regular roles.

Your Tasks

As a Community Café & Game Night Host, you will:
  • Open and Close the Café: Take care of the space independently (setup and tidy up).
  • Host Game Sessions: Offer easy-to-learn, fun board games that encourage social interaction.
  • Create a Welcoming Atmosphere: Make everyone feel comfortable, included, and at home.
  • Involve Other Volunteers: Invite existing volunteers to join and build community together.
  • Grow the Project: Help motivate others to support or eventually co-host the evenings with you.

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is reliable and confident managing a small space alone (at least at the beginning).
  • Loves board games and using them to bring people together.
  • Is warm, social, and able to create a friendly group atmosphere.
  • Is proactive and happy to involve others.
  • Can commit to one fixed evening per week.
No professional experience is needed—just a heart for people and a passion for play!

Time required

Regularly
Approx. 3 hours per week.
On weekdays, on weekends, at night
  • 1 fixed evening per week (approx. 3–4 hours including setup and cleanup).
  • Minimum commitment of 6 months.
  • Location: No52 Pavillon (Karuna Pavillon), Boxhagener Platz — a cozy 20–25 m² indoor space.

Important notice

📍 About the Location – No52 Pavilion at Boxhagener Platz

Our community café and event space is located at Boxhagener Platz, a lively and diverse part of Berlin. The No52 Pavilion is a small and cozy spot where people from all walks of life come together.
As part of this unique setting, you may occasionally interact with individuals facing challenging life circumstances, including homelessness or addiction. While they are not the main focus of our events, we maintain respectful and positive relationships with some of them—many even support us by helping keep the area clean and welcoming.

We believe in fostering a space where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued. To support that:

  • You’ll receive clear guidance and support for handling any safety concerns, should they arise.
  • On occasion, you may need to tidy the outside area before opening the café.
  • Volunteers help with the fair distribution of the KARUNA Kompass newspaper, part of a local dignity-based initiative for people experiencing poverty.
We know these elements make No52 Pavilion a special place—not only for creativity and connection, but also for practicing empathy, inclusion, and real community care. If you're open, grounded, and up for making a difference in a meaningful way, we’d love to have you on board.

Here’s why this opportunity is special:
  • Your Impact: Build a safe, fun, and welcoming space for social connection.
  • Start Something New: Shape and lead your own community evening with room to grow.
  • Strengthen Our Network: Help activate and connect our wider volunteer community.
  • Grow Personally: Learn skills in facilitation, event hosting, and informal community building.
  • Volunteer Certificate: Receive a certificate for your contribution (great for visa applications or professional use).
  • Exciting Opportunities: After one year, EU citizens may qualify for a funded learning trip or exchange program.
  • More Benefits: After 6 months, you may qualify for a Berlin Volunteer Card with discounts at cultural and entertainment venues.
This is your chance to bring people together through the joy of games, connection, and shared community moments—one evening at a time.

Wellbeing for Everyone gUG

"Wellbeing for Everyone" is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to promoting diversity, wellbeing and social inclusion through creative methods at various locations in Berlin.

We are committed to giving socially disadvantaged people a sense of belonging, promoting their personal growth and creating a strong sense of cohesion within communities. To achieve this, we use art, music and movement as interactive methods. These help to create a positive group feeling, connections and even friendships between people who did not know each other before.

Our programs and workshops aim to promote resilience and counteract problems caused by discrimination and social isolation. We also develop concepts in international exchange projects to increase well-being and a sense of belonging in various disadvantaged communities.

In our new project, we are expanding our approach. We creatively generate a shared ecological awareness and thus strengthen a sense of belonging and social cohesion.
