About the volunteering opportunity

For our project Hürdenspringer Tempelhof-Schöneberg we are looking for people who want to get involved as volunteer mentors.

As a mentor, you will accompany and support refugees from shared accommodation in Tempelhof-Schöneberg on their path to integration. Through the regular meetings with you, you facilitate the arrival of your mentee and promote participation in public, cultural-sporting and professional everyday life.

Your Tasks

You would support the refugees, help them to orientate themselves in the city and thus be an important element in their integration. The topics that you will deal with in the tandem will be based on the needs of the mentees. The focus would be on the following topics:

  • Regular practice of the German language
  • Assistance with orientation to education and apprenticeship opportunities
  • common leisure activities

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.

You are between 25 and 75 years old and want to get involved for a year (1-2 hours a week)? You will be prepared for your task in a detailed introductory training.

During mentoring, you will also be closely monitored and professionally supported by our full-time employees.
