About the volunteering opportunity
Preventing waste doesn't just mean not using plastic bags, but creating the conditions to prevent them from being used in the first place!
We are also campaigning for the interests of the zero waste movement at a political level. Cologne has already decided to become a zero waste city. The working group deals with the current Zero Waste concept and the measures it contains. We define how we want to support the measures and take care of their implementation.
Your Tasks
The tasks are divided up in the working group. These are, for example:
- Coordinating or supporting specific actions
- Carrying out actions themselves
- Communicating about developments on the topic
- Cooperation/networking with other stakeholders (e.g. associations, locations, ...)
- Maintaining contacts with people from politics and administration
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
As a committed person, you should be prepared to familiarize yourself with the topic of zero waste, Zero Waste City and specifically the development in Cologne. Of course, we also discuss this a lot within the association. However, independent research is always very helpful.

You decide for yourself how much you want to get involved. There is usually a working group meeting once a month and it would be great if you could take part.
