The station mission at Berlin Central Station as well as Berlin East Station is happy to receive volunteer support:
We help travelers getting on, off and changing trains and accompany travelers at the station. We are also a low-threshold contact point for people with social problems. We offer advice and refer people to specialist advice centers or other social institutions and also provide people with food.
In addition, we have a special advisory service, especially for people with mental impairments - the "courage makers at the station". As part of the project "Kids-on-Tour" we are also active as an escort service for children traveling alone.
Volunteers are sought to take on an early or late shift, depending on the location, the deployment times and tasks can vary in consultation with the facility.
Working hours can be early service 8-12 clock or late service 13-17 clock - these take place on weekdays, but also on weekends and holidays.
The following tasks occur: Hospitality of guests with drinks, conversations, advice and mediation, travel assistance in and at the station
For the engagement you should be open, interested and friendly to people and have fun in dealing with different people.
Knowledge of English is an advantage, but not a must!
Keep in touch if you have further questions by message or phone: 030-66633-1209
Early service 8am-12pm or late service 1pm-5pm
Also on weekends and holidays, but this can also be arranged individually
The youngcaritas Berlin belongs to the Caritasverband für das Erzbistum Berlin e.V. and promotes young people's commitment. Our goal is to introduce young people to politically and socially "explosive" topics and to teach them a more attentive and conscious use of environmental resources, both through theoretical input and through practical implementation. The goal of youngcaritas Berlin is to win as many young people as possible for voluntary work, be it for the youngcaritas projects "Kulturbuddys", *vergissmeinnicht* or through counselling and placement in various institutions and projects.More about the organisation
