We are looking for volunteers for the offers in the community gardens of Cologne. We want to make Cologne more edible, i.e. make locally produced fruit and vegetables easily accessible to all Cologne residents and facilitate access to the environment and community through gardening. There are a number of community garden/edible city initiatives that are organized in different ways.
Participation is low-threshold, but also flexible. It can range from one-off activities (planting beds, winterizing the garden, garden party) to regular services (e.g. watering) to sporadic help (planting, harvesting, social media, managing email distribution lists). As colorful as the gardens are, so is the range of activities to get involved in.
Interested parties can contact the Nutrition Council and they will refer you depending on where you live and what you are interested in.
