About the volunteering opportunity

In ADO Lions, students from the 8th grade onwards are supported in their choice of career and/or study. The special feature is that these are students in the fast-track class for gifted students. They often graduate from high school at a very young age. Where their journey will take them afterwards is often not at all clear. After all, they are not equipped with the 'I KNOW EVERYTHING AND KNOW EXACTLY MY WAY' gene and are often just as helpless and overwhelmed as other students their age. And it is precisely at this point that the mentors become important.

The project has a permanent coordinator who can answer almost any question and is an approachable and very considerate contact person.

Everyone is prepared for their participation, and there are special modules on the subject of giftedness.

Your Tasks

Provide support as a professional, accompany young, highly talented people on their way to an internship or vocational training and provide advice and support.

There is then a central 'matching', where the tandems get to know each other for the first time. The selection for this is made in the final decision by the coordinator.

Parents are also brought on board. Everyone gets to know each other at the latest during matching: Mentors, mentees and parents.

The tandems agree on the goals they want to work towards and start meeting regularly in the project rooms. This works best if there are fixed appointments for this, e.g. every Wednesday at 17:00.

In the project rooms there is always a full-time colleague on site.
