About the volunteering opportunity
We are looking for trainers and childcare providers who would like to join our 8-week Bike & Belong offering for women with migration experience and our additional activities.
Your Tasks
The childcare workers play with the children while their mothers learn how to ride a bike.
With the help of a training manual and a small train-the-trainer course, the trainers each prepare a training session (warm-up, input, individual training, cool-down) and give the participants assistance with cycling.
In addition are the volunteers we plan various other activities within a framework program (repair workshop, picnic, table tennis, bike tour) - in which the volunteers can also participate.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, basic German skills are required.
For this commitment you need a basic knowledge of German. Otherwise, you do not need to bring any previous knowledge - we discuss the bike learning concept and the units in a train-the-trainer workshop.
As a childcare provider, you need an extended certificate of good conduct. This is very easy to apply for at the city of Leipzig - we provide you with a form for exemption from costs.
We are happy if you are motivated, want to participate and can do so regularly!
Time required
The courses last approx. 8 weeks and take place once a week for two hours, usually in the late afternoon (i.e. a total of 8x2 hours per course).
We will decide on which day of the week the course will take place.
You will take part in a preparatory workshop before you become a trainer.
Important notice
Since we want to enable a safe space in our offer, we are looking for female volunteers only.
Where?
Bike Bridge e.V.

We use cycling as a tool to create encounters between refugees, people with migration experience and the local population. We want to bring people together and strengthen togetherness.
