About the volunteering opportunity
In the mentoring project of our volunteering office MARIE, people from Berlin who want to support other people find each other. We are looking for committed people who accompany refugees or other groups of people with support needs and make it easier for them to arrive in a new environment. Personal contact at eye level helps people to get to know each other better and to learn from each other. Prejudices can thus be reduced and replaced by shared experiences.
We offer you: individual support and advice, a regular training program, joint recreational events, access to free offers of cultural events, issuance of certificates of commitment, if necessary (BVG) travel reimbursement.
Your Tasks
Support a man (mid-30s) with autism in the realization of his professional plans. Since September 2023, he has been taking part in a project in which he is already receiving advice on how to put his professional project plans into practice. Nevertheless, he would like to have an mentor who can provide him with additional support - through regular meetings where, for example, documents can be compiled and discussed in order to work together on structure and planning.
Concrete prior knowledge is not necessary. What exactly the content of the project is will be discussed during a personal meeting. Sensitivity in dealing with people with autism is desirable.
Further details about when and where the meetings should take place can also still be discussed together.
What's needed
