About the volunteering opportunity
We welcome volunteers who enjoy interacting with the elderly, are outgoing, empathetic, and reliable, and visit people in their homes 1-2/times a week.
Your Tasks
- Visits at home
- Conversations, playing, reading aloud
- Accompanying outdoors: walks, café, appointments
- shopping together and/or preparing something together
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
- You are interested in life stories and like to be a conversation partner.
- You enjoy making the time stimulating and creative: with games, singing, reading aloud and creative activity.
- You like to accompany walks and possibly appointments
Time required
Regularly
Approx. 2 hours per week.
On weekdays, on weekends, during the day
Volunteers should bring about 2-3 hours of time per week for a regular visit of an elderly person.
If interested, more than one person can be cared for.
Important notice
We offer :
- regular exchange among each other as well as the opportunity for training
- ongoing professional support
- accident and liability insurance
- an expense allowance of 7.50/hour
There will be a free preparatory training, which will last approx. 40h (appointment by consultation). The majority of this will take place via an online self-study portal
