About the volunteering opportunity
What is this commitment about?
Extreme weather conditions can be life-threatening for homeless people. People without shelter often spend the whole day outdoors or on the street. They usually have no access to sheltered and air-conditioned rooms and therefore experience weather conditions differently to people with a fixed abode. In addition to drinking water, they often lack many other things, meaning that the vital supply of drinking water cannot always be a top priority for them.

What are 5-minute commitments?
With our 5-minute commitments, we want to inspire you to easily integrate commitment into your everyday life. They are independent of charitable organizations and enable you to make an individual commitment to people and nature in your neighbourhood.
Your Tasks
The next time you go to the supermarket on a hot summer's day, simply take a bottle of water with you and give it to someone in need. Or if you see someone who may be suffering from the heat, you can actively ask them if they would like a drink and then get them one. You can also do the same in winter and buy a hot drink in a restaurant or at a Christmas market, for example, and give it as a gift.

For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
No special requirements are necessary for this commitment.
