About the volunteering opportunity
Would you like to volunteer for people with flight or migration background?
At Malteser Integrationsdienst you can support people in issues related to arriving and finding their way in Frankfurt. Accompany a person or family individually in 1:1 sponsorship: support them in learning German, explore the city together, accompany them in everyday issues. There are (almost) no limits to the design of the sponsorship. The 12-month sponsorship is accompanied by a colorful program including group excursions and meetings with other tandems. Active participation in social life, in sports clubs, at school or at work is easier to achieve with the support of volunteers.
Support, give opportunities, experience Frankfurt through 1:1 sponsorship at eye level.
Your Tasks
- You meet weekly with your tandem partner (also possible digitally)
- Empowerment! You support your tandem partner in learning German and encourage him or her to find solutions on his or her own and to make the arrival in Frankfurt easier
- You provide support in various everyday or bureaucratic issues and in the search for suitable counseling centers (depending on the agreement)
- You and your tandem partner take part in a colorful social program
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
- You enjoy exchange and mutual learning
- You are open and empathetic towards fellow human beings and their realities of life
- You have at least 2 hours of time per week over a period of one year
- You speak German at a native level
- You are patient and flexible with language barriers
- You do not need any previous knowledge
