Care and support for senior citizens

You support older people with simple everyday tasks and decide flexibly which activities you are available for, e.g:

You can register as a volunteer independently, free of charge and without obligation at https://www.deinnachbar.de/helfer-werden/. We will then have an intake interview where we can get to know each other.

You can take part in a free training course to become an everyday companion, which is voluntary. We recommend this, as it prepares you optimally for dealing with people in need of care and shows you how to relieve the burden on family caregivers. However, you will not be providing care, but caring activities.

Once you have registered and spoken to us, you can download the helper portal app and start your assignments with ease. You will only receive assignment requests that match your helper profile. You can use our helper app to easily accept or cancel these or search for jobs in your area yourself.

These assignments can be regular or spontaneous.

As an everyday companion, you take on the task of occupying or accompanying people in need of care on an hourly basis.

During your assignments, you are covered by accident, liability and business trip insurance. An extended certificate of good conduct is required to ensure that clients are not cared for by people with a criminal record.
