About the volunteering opportunity
Urlaub ohne Koffer offers a 5-day all-day vacation program for children from the neighbourhood and surrounding area of the Stadtmissionsgemeinden during the 2026 Berlin vacations. The children experience an attractive all-day program without an overnight stay. Parents are relieved and can go to work without worrying about the care of their children. The children are recognized, valued, seen and encouraged as individuals with their own strengths. They experience the value of a good community in which Christian faith is tangible.
Your Tasks
You organize or accompany a week with children between the ages of 6 and 12. The program is varied and flexible: music, theater, creativity, action, activities in the neighborhood, small group discussions and supervision, playing and cooking. You discuss and reflect on the program as a team.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
No previous experience is necessary. You speak fluent German and are at least 16 years old. Volunteers who would like to bring their (grand)child with them (6-12 years) are also very welcome.
As this is a voluntary position with children, an extended certificate of good conduct in accordance with § 30a BZRG for the purposes of § 72a SGB VIII is required for volunteers. Assumption of the costs of child protection training, the police certificate of good conduct and, if required, assumption of the costs of a first aid course and the red card (hygiene training).

1-2 training sessions with the weekly team
1-2 training sessions with the weekly team
Participation in a child protection training course (4 hours)
Taking a week's Urlaub ohne Koffer ("vacation without suitcase") Monday to Friday from 8:30 am. - 4:30 pm.
When: During the Berlin summer vacation 2026 (17.-21.08.2026)
