About the volunteering opportunity

Our shared flat in Kreuzberg is looking for a committed leisure partner for a 56-year-old, fun-loving gentleman. He would like company and support with various activities on the following days: Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. He is enthusiastic about outings, shopping, going to pubs, watching soccer, playing pool, boat trips, going to variety shows, table dancing, PC introductions, going to the movies, wellness, relaxation exercises and cooking healthy food together.

Despite life's challenges, he is mobile and looks forward to varied activities that reflect his interest in entertainment, exercise and relaxation.

Your Tasks

  • Regular meetings on the specified days (Monday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
  • Participation in activities (excursions, shopping, pub visits, watching soccer, pool games, boat trips, variety show visits, table dancing, PC introductions, cinema accompaniment, wellness activities, relaxation exercises and joint cooking sessions for healthy eating).

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
  • Sensitivity and empathy in dealing with people with disabilities.
  • Communication skills and the ability to have an open conversation.
  • Willingness to meet regularly.
  • A respectful and open appearance.
  • Be aware that epileptic seizures may occur in rare cases.

Time required

Regularly
Approx. 2 hours per week.
On weekdays, on weekends, during the day
Monday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Important notice

You will be trained on site by our colleagues to ensure that you are familiar with the needs and special features.

It is helpful, but not a prerequisite, to have a first aider or first aid course
