About the volunteering opportunity
Enriching for both sides: As a mentor at JOBLINGE, you support young people with difficult starting conditions in their entry into professional life. The young people benefit from the professional and life experience of their mentors. They appreciate having someone who takes them and their wishes seriously, gives them practical tips, stands by them in the event of difficulties and rejoices with them in their successes. The mentors create perspectives - and in the process broaden their own perspective through encounters with young people from completely different backgrounds and life worlds.
Your Tasks
First and foremost, it is a matter of encouraging, motivating and accompanying. Ideally, you offer the opportunity for regular, patient and understanding exchange. Developing ideas and giving impulses together can also be part of mentoring.
What's needed
You should have patience, understanding and commitment for teenagers and young adults. It is also important that you already have a few years of work experience.
Time required
You should plan one to two hours per week for mentoring over a period of around six months. The commitment is usually most time-consuming at the beginning.
