About the volunteering opportunity
Around 800 senior citizens attend courses and events at the Berlin Seniors' Club in Wallotstrasse every month. Many of them have no children or grandchildren nearby and are at a loss when it comes to questions about cell phones (tablets and laptops). This is where we want to help.
So far, we only offer cell phone help on Wednesday afternoons. We would like to extend the service to Monday and Friday afternoons. Or one morning.
The senior citizens are always very grateful for contact with younger people who can help them with questions about using their cell phones.
There are also other tasks here at the Seniors' Club that can be combined with cell phone help, e.g. helping to bake cakes, working in the garden, assisting with exhibitions, vernissages, parties, designing flyers and posters, and much more. So if you are interested, your work can extend beyond cell phone help to other areas. We recently had 2 young Syrian women on assignment. That went really well. So feel really free, no matter how old you are or what cultural background you have :-)
