About the volunteering opportunity

In the social counseling service in the shared accommodation for refugees at Beelitzhof, our social workers and social care workers advise our residents on various topics. The use of language mediators is often essential in order to break down communication barriers.

Your Tasks

We are looking for a Georgian-speaking person who would like to work with us as a language mediator and/or who would be interested in occasionally accompanying Georgian residents to medical and official appointments. Unfortunately, our need for German-Georgian translation services is currently not covered! As we are grateful for any help, telephone translations would also be possible! You can expect to work in an international, friendly and committed team, gain insights into a very complex field of work and really make a difference for our Georgian residents!

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
  • Good language skills in German and Georgian
  • Enjoy supporting people in difficult life situations

Time required

On weekdays, during the day, at night
We are grateful for any help! A regular, weekly appointment for 1-3 hours of language mediation in the social team would be great, but we would also be happy to have people who would simply accompany us to a doctor's or official appointment from time to time to help with communication.
