More and more very old people are coping with life alone at home. That is a good thing, but many of them also feel lonely. With the telephone visiting service, volunteers get involved on the phone: they answer, listen, ask questions and stay in touch.
Our volunteers, are trained in conversation skills to call older people regularly at set times. There is room for the needs of the person they are talking to, their daily joys and worries, their own life story and how they are feeling at the moment. All conversations are treated absolutely confidentially and are free of charge for the seniors.
With the personal telephone call, the volunteers regularly give older people who live alone or have or can maintain little social contact a time of joy and human closeness. It is as simple as it sounds - a visit on the phone.
There are no age limits for the telephone visiting service: whether 20, 50 or 80 years old - everyone is welcome for this location-independent and flexible service with us.
