The lockdown has been extended for the time being until 7 March and many of us spend most of our time – apart from a few walks – within our own four walls. This surely leads to a feeling of weariness when the possibilities to be active are so limited. Fortunately, you don’t have to remain completely inactive, but can even do something good with your time. Many social organisations now offer projects that operate completely virtually and in which you can easily get involved by volunteering from home – even now during the Lockdown.

So if you feel like “getting out of the house” again, you’ll find some interesting volunteering opportunities here.

1 I Join the Welcome Talks for newcomers and locals organised by Nachbarschaftsheim Schöneberg e.V.

You grew up in Berlin and would like to tell us what it was like, or share your story of moving to Berlin with other New-Berliners? What do you like about your neighbourhood, what is less beautiful? Do you perhabs have some insider tips to share?

With the Welcome Talks, the project Lebendige Nachbarschaft (Living Neighbourhood) of the Nachbarschaftsheim Schöneberg e.V. has created a digital format in which Berliners and Newcomers can get to know each other digitally via Zoom and exchange their stories.

If you would like to join us and tell us about yourself, then register for the next event on 26.02.2021 from 5-6pm – for a lively neighbourhood despite the Lockdown.

2 I Revise the homepage of the Munich Alliance against Depression as an SEO expert

ONLINE VOLUNTEERING | native german skills required

Support the Munich Alliance Against Depression in making their services easier to find online for those seeking help and thus enabling quick access to help services and information for all those affected.

In your role as SEO expert, you will be responsible for the editorial revision of the homepage according to current SEO criteria and should have corresponding SEO knowledge as well as an interest in destigmatising mental illnesses. Does this sound like the right job for you? Then get in touch now for a first meeting with the team.

3 I Have a digital conversation with women who want to practice German at the women’s meeting BENN (for women & LGBTQI* only)

At the women’s meeting BENN (Berlin Entwickelt Neue Nachbarschaften), long-established neighbours and refugee women who live in the accommodation or flats in the neighbourhood meet. In a relaxed atmosphere over a cup of tea or coffee, German language skills are taught and homework is solved together. Sometimes neighbourly help is also organised.

Do you want to join us? Then find a suitable time now – the digital women’s meeting takes place every Thursday from 4-5 pm.

4 I Support Visions for Children e.V. with the creation of corporate design templates

You have an eye for design and are skilled in using PowerPoint, Word and maybe even one or two of the Adobe programmes? Then support Visions for Children e.V., which works to create sustainable learning conditions for children in conflict areas.

With the help of your knowledge and the programmes mentioned above, you will create various template documents based on an already existing corporate design and thus support the association in implementing its new CI. Sounds exciting? Then get in touch now for a first meeting.

5 I Support the Zentrum ÜBERLEBEN in designing new digital fundraising formats

At the Zentrum ÜBERLEBEN, survivors of violence and flight as well as people with different migration experiences find medical, psychotherapeutic, social work and integrative support.

Due to the current Corona situation, the organisation now wants to develop new interactive digital fundraising formats. Together with the Zentrum-ÜBERLEBEN team, you will work on the conception and implementation of new fundraising ideas. For this, you should have as much fun as experience in the field of event management. Is that exactly your thing? Then get in touch with them now.

6 I Create an animated short video for the Aelius Förderwerk e.V. for disadvantaged children and young people

The non-profit organisation Aelius Förderwerk e.V. supports disadvantaged children and young people on their educational path – through personal mentoring, advice on e.g. financing studies or job applications, as well as various workshops.

In order to market the counselling services of the association online more intensively, an animated short video is now to be created to be used on the website, social media and other channels. Do you have the time, the desire, the appropriate programmes as well as creative ideas to create this short animated video? Then get in touch with the association now and make an appointment for a first meeting.

7 I Support the Ernährungsrat-Unna in the field of IT

The Ernährungsrat-Unna, founded in autumn 2020, advocates for a socially just and ecologically sustainable agricultural and nutritional turnaround – through regional production and consumption of food.

The initiative is still looking for energetic tech support for the design of its digital organisation and communication. Would you like to support them in the background as IT support (also at short notice) and help with technical questions? Then write to them now for a first meeting.
