Become part of our strong team and help with disaster control, blood donations, the clothing and book store, refugee aid, care & logistics, medical services at events, children and youth work or one of the many other volunteer projects. You may even have your own ideas that you would like to realize together with us. At the DRK Bremen, there is something for everyone who wants to help!

More than 430,000 volunteers in Germany are involved with the German Red Cross alongside work, studies or school, and more than 13 million people worldwide in 190 Red Cross and Red Crescent societies. They are part of a global humanitarian movement that has been helping people in need for over 150 years. It does not differentiate between friend and foe, it does not ask where someone comes from or what they believe.

You can get involved in a project for a limited period of time or spontaneously step in as a helper, for example during storm or flood disasters. You can become an active member and help shape the Red Cross. No matter what you decide to do, anyone who wants to help others can join. No previous experience is required, we train anyone who wants to get involved. Those who already have experience can deepen their knowledge and specialize. You contribute your skills and decide for yourself how much time you want to invest. Volunteering is a lot of fun and gives you new experiences. You take responsibility for yourself and other people and are therefore something very special.

We support people in everyday life and in emergency situations. Everyone of all ages can find offers and services from us, as well as support in times of need. At 150 years old, we are one of the oldest aid organizations in the city of Bremen, and we are also the leading association of independent charities.
